Bachelor of Laws LLB (Honours)

Overview

Our long-established LLB degree is a highly regarded programme, being the only qualifying LLB awarded and actually taught, in conjunction with the University of Liverpool, in the Caribbean region. The benefits of the Truman Bodden Law School (TBLS) of the Cayman Islands undergraduate degree programme involve the experience of studying for a degree in an island paradise with a relaxed way of life.

It also gives students the added advantage of obtaining a rigorous degree validated and supervised by a highly respected UK University, with the added bonus of small group teaching, individual attention and a genuine open-door policy. This is truly the ideal environment for a budding lawyer to study and thrive under the supervision of our dedicated academic team. The Law School boasts excellent feedback from current students who maintain that the personal touch and quality of teaching received is “exceptional”.

The programme focuses on the study of law as an intellectual discipline, and can either form the first step towards qualifying as a solicitor or barrister or as preliminary training for a range of other careers.

Method of Teaching

Each module consists of large group lecture sessions and fortnightly small group tutorial sessions. Classes will guide students in legal study but also allow the development of key skills. Reflection and feedback will allow students to progress and improve throughout their course.
